Search Engine Optimisation Services in Manchester

Websites are completely & utterly useless...

Without traffic.

You can have the best looking, fastest loading, easiest to navigate website on the planet, but unless people are actually getting to your website in the first place, it may as well not exist.

Does your website get you enough enquiries, & new customers? If not, then the chances are you simply need to increase the amount of people that actually see your website.

Many people give up completely on websites, without realising that they were very nearly there, all they needed to do in order to turn their website into the marketing machine they wanted it to be, was to add traffic.

Search Engine Optimisation, SEO, means to optimise a website so that the major search engines place your website high up in the rankings when a potential customer searches for words which describe the services you offer, or the products you sell.

SEO is not just about making a few tweaks, it is mainly about:

Keyword Research: to ensure that your website is focusing on the words that your potential customers are actually searching for.
Content: having the right quantity & quality of original, unique content.
On Page Optimisation: Ensuring that all aspects of on the page search engine optimisation are addressed.
Off Page SEO: Gaining high quality & relevant back links to your website

If you have the time, and the inclination - of course you can do your own search engine optimisation, but the fact is it's usually a lot more work than is anticipated, and most people come to realise that they don't have the time & the specialised knowledge they need to make the most of their website by doing their own SEO, and therefore decide either to use a professional SEO consultant - or to forget search engine optimisation altogether.

Forget SEO altogether: If you do this, your website will not create new business for you - it will simply lie dormant without traffic, unless you do something else to create traffic, such as pay per click (ppc) advertising.

Many people decide to ignore SEO, and go for pay per click instead, usually with google adwords. This means you have to continually pay for all, or most of your traffic, meaning that as soon as you stop investing, the traffic stops.

Anyone who has experienced the benefits of good SEO would agree that ignoring SEO & going for PPC only, is complete madness. Why?

Simply because with SEO (if done correctly) you pay for SEO once - and the traffic will flow for a long time to come. You do not need to continually invest in SEO for it to continue to be of benefit.

Recently I did some calculations, to work out how much one of my clients would have paid via PPC advertising, for the traffic that my optimisation work had provided. By working out my costs, and the amount of traffic created over a 4 year period, and then working out the average CPC for these keywords on Google Adwords, I worked out that roughly speaking, my client would have had to pay at least 7 times more, for the same traffic!

Search engine optimisation is by far the most cost effective way of generating targeted traffic, pay per click advertising is something that you should consider adding to your marketing once you know the site is working to convert visitors to customers, and you have been able to work out your approximate visitor value, so you know how much you can afford to pay for each visit - but it certainly isn't a method that should be used straight away with a new website, or as the sole source of traffic - in my experience & opinion.

Use a professional SEO consultant

Most people will agree that using a professional search engine optimisation consultant is the intelligent thing to do BUT it's not quite as simple as that...

You need a REAL search engine optimisation consultant, and you need an AFFORDABLE one.

REAL : Unfortunately, this industry is one which is an easy target for marketing organisations who pay all of their attention on getting the business, and taking the money - and little or no attention on actually providing the service.

You'll no doubt have had telephone calls from companies telling you that they're search engine specialists, and that for a certain price each month, they can get you top Google positions?

I wont go into this too much here - but all I would ask, is if they're search engine specialists, why are they having to cold call? And, if they're so sure that you will be satisfied with their service, why are they asking you to sign a contract?

AFFORDABLE: There are some incredible SEO firms in Manchester, and in other parts of the UK, who do a tremendous job - however, many of them are not geared up to be affordable to small businesses, start ups, and work from home business people.

What you need as a small business, is different to the needs of a much larger business - and your budget is going to be far tighter as a small business, than that of a much larger organisation.

Larger SEO projects often include whole teams of people, and as a result even the minimum charges can put a lot of small businesses off - this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use a consultant, it just means you need to find one who specialises in smaller businesses, like I do.

So, if you're looking for a REAL, and AFFORDABLE SEO consultant, then get in contact with me. Either drop me an email, fill in my online quotation form, or give me a call on 01625 876103
