Any extra work required costs £40 per hour but if something is not working and needs fixing the maintenance is charged at a only £10 per hour! This motivates me to make sure that the application is designed so well that errors are minimised.

But more importantly, they are tools designed to make application development go smoother and quicker and that is why they are behind those successes.
The fact that a technology is smoother and quicker does not make it more expensive to develop, it makes it less expensive because it is designed with work efficiency in mind.
